What is a Perfect Clear?
A Perfect Clear (also called All Clear) happens when you clear lines and leave the board completely empty - not a single block remaining.
Perfect Clear Scoring
| Lines Cleared | Bonus Points |
|---|---|
| 1 line | 800 x level |
| 2 lines | 1,200 x level |
| 3 lines | 1,800 x level |
| 4 lines | 2,000 x level |
Perfect Clear Garbage
In multiplayer, a Perfect Clear sends 5 garbage lines (plus any combo and B2B bonuses).
Perfect Clears also count as a difficult clear for Back-to-Back.
How to Get Perfect Clears
The board is 10 columns wide. To empty the board, the total cells placed since the last empty state must be divisible by 10.
- Each piece has 4 cells
- After placing N pieces on an empty board, you have 4N cells
- 4N must be clearable to reach 0
Common Perfect Clear windows:
- After 4 pieces (16 cells = 1.6 rows - rare)
- After 5 pieces (20 cells = 2 rows - possible)
- After 10 pieces (40 cells = 4 rows - most common setup)
Tips
- Perfect Clears are rare in normal play but can be set up intentionally
- The opening of a game (first 10 pieces) is the best opportunity
- Certain opening sequences are designed specifically for Perfect Clear attempts
