How Garbage Works
In multiplayer modes, clearing lines sends garbage lines to your opponents. Garbage lines appear at the bottom of the opponent"s board with one random gap column.
Garbage Sent per Clear
| Clear Type | Lines Sent |
|---|---|
| Single | 0 |
| Double | 1 |
| Triple | 2 |
| Quad | 4 |
| T-Spin Mini Single | 0 |
| T-Spin Mini Double | 1 |
| T-Spin Single | 2 |
| T-Spin Double | 4 |
| T-Spin Triple | 6 |
| Perfect Clear | 5 |
Combo Garbage
Combos add extra garbage lines on top of the base amount:
| Combo Count | Bonus Lines |
|---|---|
| 1 | +0 |
| 2-3 | +1 |
| 4-5 | +2 |
| 6-7 | +3 |
| 8+ | +4 |
Back-to-Back Bonus
Consecutive difficult clears (Quads, T-Spins, Perfect Clears) add +1 garbage line.
Garbage Canceling
Incoming garbage does not appear immediately. It sits in a queue (shown as a red bar on the side of your board). When you clear lines, your outgoing garbage cancels incoming garbage first. Only the remainder is sent to opponents.
Example: You have 3 incoming garbage and clear a Quad (4 lines). The 3 incoming lines are canceled, and the remaining 1 line is sent to your opponent.
When Does Garbage Appear?
Uncanceled garbage appears on your board when you place a piece without clearing any lines. This means you can keep garbage in the queue as long as you keep clearing.
